After years as a project manager and working on site, I saw the same thing on every job: the day ends, everyone's tired, and the report either gets thrown together in five minutes or doesn't get written at all.
Nobody was slacking. The crews were out there all day — building, troubleshooting, coordinating trades, keeping things on schedule. By the time the work was done, sitting down to document it felt like a second job.
But here's the thing — when documentation falls behind, everything else starts to slip. Disputes don't have a paper trail. Billing gets questioned. Clients feel out of the loop. One missed report turns into a week of missing records, and suddenly you're trying to piece together what happened from memory.
Everyone I worked with knew reporting mattered. They just needed a way to do it that didn't eat into the little time they had left at the end of the day.
